![]() Note that once the switch is turned on, power is supplied to all of the BROWN wires leading to all of the various lamps on your truck, including tail lamps, front park lamps, cab roof clearance lamps (if your truck is equipped with these), and license plate lamps. Since the fuse does not blow until you turn the switch on, it is pretty safe to assume that the problem is neither being caused by the VSM, nor would it be likely to be caused by an internal short in the light control switch (although it is still possible). If you look at the diagram, you will see that this fuse supplies voltage directly to your light control switch and also to your Vehicle Security Module (VSM). You can burn your entire truck to the ground by doing this (I have seen this happen). A word of caution: Whatever you do, DO NOT put a larger fuse in this position. I assume the fuse we are talking about is the fuse shown at the upper right of diagram 1 of 1 as Fuse #17 (15 Amp).
